I’m proud to announce that my article “The New Normal” in Moment Magazine has been nominated for the Livingston Awards for Young Journalists.
“The Livingston Awards for Young Journalists honors outstanding achievement by professionals under the age of 35 in local, national and international reporting. The largest all-media, general reporting prize in American journalism, the Livingston Awards judge print, broadcast and online entries”
“The New Normal,” published in September 2012, chronicles the early days, growing pains and contemporary challenges of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community in Israel. From serving openly in the military to the struggle for same-sex marriage and the recent accusations of political “pinkwashing,” the article paints a complicated picture of a community that has gained so much so quickly and yet still struggles to understand its identity and its role in Israeli society.
You can read the “The New Normal” here.
