With a surge in rights in the last few decades, Israel’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community has turned its attention to parenting and the country has experienced a significant baby boom, particularly among gay men, in recent years.

“As soon as the gay community became a parental community, I think acceptance by society became smoother,” said one Israeli.

Now two shows, one Israeli-born and one imported from America, on competing cable channels are reflecting the reality of the new Israeli family.
